Lakers News · Lakeland Kickoff Event 2019

Hello Laker Families,

It’s finally here, the Kickoff to 2019 event is upon us.  This year we are making a major push to connect our students with activities and clubs that meet their interests.  Here is a video invite as well as information on the event.

Lakeland Jr/Sr High School will host a “Kickoff to 2019” on Saturday August 10th starting at 5pm next to the tennis courts. This will be an event to show our students all the great extracurricular activities available for students in grades 7-12. There will be informational booths detailing the who, what, when, and why of all our clubs and available activities in addition to sign up sheets for getting involved. There will be food for the students while they catch up with friends over tailgate games sponsored by the Jr. High Student Council.

STUDENT ATHLETE INVOLVEMENT/ATTENDANCE REQUESTED! If you are a Lakeland Student-Athlete (6th – 12th), or plan to participate in any Fall, Winter, or Spring Sport, we would love to have you there so we can highlight you! Be at the Varsity Football Field by 5:30pm!

At 6pm community and parents are welcomed back to the varsity football field where we will be announcing all of the members of the various activities and athletes. Our cheerleaders will also be leading the crowd through traditional Lakeland cheers. The Kickoff to 2019 will conclude with the students in attendance getting a chance to “Pelt the Principals” as all three Jr/Sr High school principals (Albaugh, Schackow, and Superczynski) will navigate the track and try to avoid water balloons being launched by the students. After the Kickoff to 2019 event families and their students are encouraged to stick around and watch the annual Red/Blue scrimmage by the varsity football team on the varsity football field.

This will be a great night to reconnect and explore many of the great opportunities in store for the 2019-20 school year. See you there! Any questions please contact Jason Schackow @

Hope to see you all there.  Please also visit out Facebook page (@LJsHsLeadingEDGE) or Twitter (@TheLakelandEDGE) for up to date information.
